Career Pathways in Arts, Digital Media and Entertainment

In 2015 the creative sector (e.g. film and television, digital media, visual and performing arts, fashion, etc.) generated more than 1.6 million direct and indirect jobs in California. In places like Los Angeles County and the Silicon Valley these jobs paid more than twice the average wage while also serving as the economic engines that activated the nation and the world. (Otis Report on the Creative Economy, 2017)

While these industries have been very successful at capturing the imagination of a global audience, Hollywood and Silicon Valley have been far less successful at hiring and promoting women and people of color.

Seeking to directly impact the pipeline of talent into this dynamic sector, the Career Pathways in Arts, Media, and Entertainment Conference was created to connect educators, parents, counselors and administrators to the knowledge, trends and individuals driving career opportunities in the creative economy.
